Waterfalls of Giron Tour

At 08:00 – 08:30 in the morning we take the highway on the South of Cuenca.

We will arrive to a small town called Giron, from which we will start a trekking towards the area of where the magical waterfalls can be found.

The “Chorro de Girón” area is an ideal place to walk, and admire the nature and the diversity of flora of the area. The guide will explain more about its importance and its legends and myths.

After an hour, we will find first a spectacular waterfall in our fist stop. We stop there where tourists are very welcome to submerge into the waterfalls and have a great time there swimming and taking pictures for a while.

Yunguilla is a large depression attractive for its abundant flora and fauna. This place has a wide vegetation gamma and countless species of animals, also has a warm climate which is suitable for the cultivation of sugar cane, it is a raw material for the preparation of mapanagua and “guarapo” which is a traditional drink of the valley.

Afterwards, we visit a small museum called the “Casa de los Tratados” where some historical materials can be found. We will enjoy of a typical meal for lunch at a local restaurant. And return to Cuenca at 4 pm approx.
