There you board for the train-top trip towards Alausi through fantastic Andes Mountain scenery. In Alausi you get on the train to start the spectacular descent through the famous “Devil´s Nose”, a railroad section classified as one of the major engineering achievements of the early 20th century. The train will stop at Sibambe station and after some time to relax, visit museum and enjoy traditional dance, it goes back to Alausi. 2.30hs total circuit. After finishing this amazing train journey you will head to Cañar, enjoy a box lunch on the way and finally visit the biggest Inca ruins archeological complex in Ecuador.
The complex was a ceremonial centre or observatory for the Cañari and Inca cultures. There is a museum which is administered by Banco Central del Ecuador, it is open now at this place, containing both archeological and ethnographic displays, as well as this castle we have already mentioned.
The vast archeological complex of the ruins includes a roofless fortification, courtyards, terraces, temples, houses, and a “castle” possibly the “Temple of the Sun”.
