Overview
One of the most interesting attractions of Ecuador is the Chocolate Route.
We invite to enjoy in an amazing farm where grow this fruit.
The Chocolate farm is located a few kilometers from the Ecological Reserve “Manglares Churute”, which is the largest expanse of mangroves in Ecuador. The mangroves are a type of salt-water tree that it is the perfect ecosystem to crabs and shells lives. The Ecological Reserve “Manglares Churute” is the first protected mangrove area of the Ecuadorian continental coast.
Departure in the morning from Cuenca to the Guayas province. The first stop will be in “Virgen de Cajas Sanctuary”. It is located in Cajas National Park where people adore the mother of Jesus because they believe that she appeared in this place; also we appreciate the astonishing landscape, flora and fauna of the moorland.
After of the first visit, we arrive at the Chocolate farm which has 12 hectares of extension; we can appreciate the extensive fields of cacao trees, rice fields and tropical fruit. The Chocolate farm is dedicated to the manufacture of one of the favorite products of the people that you have an explanation of how the production of this sweet product is: sow the seeds, cultivate and harvest of the chocolate. We will make this product with your own hands and taste this delicious sweet.
The Chocolate farm has a traditional style with relaxing facilities where we can rest on a hammock or take pictures. The tour includes a typical coffee break “Patacones” (green Plantain), with fresh chocolate and fruits.
