The mountains surrounding Tarqui are filled with charm allowing the tourists to see the environment of rural lifestyles. This tour links paths connecting private haciendas. Each one of these haciendas has peculiar beauty. Some are of Colonial style reflecting history, some are modern and some have the typical style of the Andean Cowboy where the main activity concerns livestock. The common factor in each of them is the unique touché added by the owners, who allow the tourist to take part in everyday life and activities, in opposite way to say in a regular hotel.

The Inca Empire used to be connected by a network of roads. Many of these roads disappeared through the years. These roads were built with stones that, in some cases, were about 7 meters wide. It is possible to follow the road on segments in very good conditions which offer an example of how the Inca Nation used to be and about the Andean rural life that has been maintained for ages.
